STATUTE: Sec. As 05.20.070 & 8 AAC 78.290 Sec. 05.20.010 - 120 and 8 ACC 78.0 10-900 Compliance with Administrative Act

PERMITS AND LICENSES: $1 million liability insurance policy required for both amusement rides. Minimum10 day notification to Department before operation can begin after installation.

INSPECTION: Performed by the Alaska Department of Labor - this is a paperwork inspection. The State of Alaska will look at:

  • Engineering Plans and Drawings
  • Operations Manual
  • Inspection Records and Logs - to be performed by Qualified 3rd Party Inspector
  • Staff Training Records and Certficates.

The State of Alaska will not physically inspect your climbing wall structure and belay systems. Having a state inspection is a duty to demponstrate to the state that you are in compliance with the law and that is it. You must hire a 3rd party inspector to perform a hands on inspection of your climbing wall or tower in the state of Alaska.
