STATUTE: Tennessee Code 68-19-101 (Elevator Legislation). Standards for elevators, escalators, tramways, aerial rides, dumb-waiters, freight elevators. NOTE: Does not cover carnival and amusement rides with the exception of aerial rides and tramways

PERMITS AND LICENSES: A state permit is required for new construction and modification annual inspection. Only applicable to Tramways & Ski Lifts

INSPECTION: Six month on site inspection for tramways and aerial rides. The State of Tennesee does not currently regulate climbing walls but most likely will by 2014.

In Tennessee there is currently no climbing wall regulation or state oversite. It is your duty as an organization to follow industry standards and maintan compliance as no state entity is required to. You must hire a 3rd party inspector to perform a hands on inspection of your climbing wall in the State of Tennessee.
